Forehead Lift & Brow Lift
Forehead Lift & Brow Lift

Forehead lifts and brow lifts are aesthetic surgical procedures primarily aimed at correcting sagging, wrinkles, and looseness in the forehead and brow areas due to aging. These procedures address upper facial aesthetic concerns, rejuvenating the facial expression and creating a more dynamic look. A forehead lift corrects wrinkles on the forehead and lifts the eyebrows, while a brow lift is typically performed to address concerns regarding the brow line and sagging.
Procedure
The duration of the forehead and brow lift procedures depends on the techniques used. Generally, these procedures take 2 to 4 hours.
Both procedures are typically done under general anesthesia, but in some cases, local anesthesia with sedation may also be used. The procedures can be performed using either the endoscopic method or traditional techniques:
- Endoscopic Method (Minimally Invasive): The endoscopic forehead lift is a less invasive technique. Small incisions are made, and a camera (endoscope) is used to access the tissue under the forehead and brow. The surgeon, using the camera, corrects excess skin and muscle, lifts the brows, and enhances the facial contours, making the face appear younger. This method leaves minimal scarring and generally results in a quicker recovery time.
- Traditional Method: In the traditional forehead lift, a longer incision is typically made along the hairline, where excess skin and tissue from the forehead and brow are removed, and the muscles are tightened. This method allows for more significant changes and is often preferred when larger adjustments are needed.

At the end of the procedure, the surgeon lifts the brows into a more youthful position and smooths the forehead’s wrinkles.
Recovery Process
Recovery from forehead and brow lift surgery is typically quick. For the first few days, mild swelling, bruising, and headaches may occur. Patients are advised to rest with their heads elevated during the first week. Swelling and bruising usually subside within 1-2 weeks.
Stitches are generally removed after 7-10 days. The recovery process tends to be quicker with the endoscopic method, as the incisions are smaller and cause less trauma. However, recovery may take longer with the traditional method.
After the surgery, patients are advised to avoid heavy physical activity and any activities that might impact the facial area. The final results are typically noticeable 3-6 months after surgery.
