Botox

Botox is an aesthetic treatment method that uses botulinum toxin, a protein derived from the *Clostridium botulinum* bacterium. It is applied to temporarily smooth out wrinkles and lines on the face. Botox is commonly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow's feet around the eyes. It is also used for medical conditions like migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and certain muscle spasms.

Procedure

Botox application usually does not require local anesthesia and is a quick procedure, lasting around 10-15 minutes. The toxin is injected into the targeted muscle area using a fine needle. The toxin temporarily paralyzes the muscles, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines. There are no visible scars post-procedure, and patients can resume their daily activities immediately.

Areas Where Botox is Applied :

  • **Forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes**: Treatment of wrinkles caused by muscle movements.
  • **Gummy smile (gum exposure)**: Botox applied to the upper lip and nose area to reduce the visibility of gums while smiling.
  • **Masseter Botox**: Reducing jaw muscle tension caused by teeth grinding or clenching and slimming the face.
  • **Lip area**: Reducing wrinkles around the lips, especially in professions like teaching and broadcasting.
  • **Neck**: Botox applied to neck muscles to achieve a long and tight neck appearance (Cleopatra neck).
  • **Sweating treatment**: Reducing excessive sweating in areas such as underarms, palms, and soles of the feet.

Recovery Process

The recovery process after Botox is quite fast. Patients can resume their normal life immediately. There may be slight redness or bruising, but these generally disappear quickly. The effect begins to show within 2-3 days, but full results may take up to 1 week. The effects of Botox typically last for 3-6 months, after which reapplication is required.
