Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical aesthetic procedure that removes excess fat deposits from the body to sculpt and shape the body contour. This procedure is especially effective for targeting localized fat that cannot be eliminated through diet and exercise, and it aims to enhance overall body shape. Liposuction is commonly performed on areas such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, waist, back, and under the chin. Techniques such as laser liposuction, Vaser liposuction, ultrasound-assisted liposuction, tumescent liposuction, and dry liposuction are available. Among these, Vaser liposuction is often preferred and applied to our patients. 

Procedure

Liposuction is performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the targeted area and uses a fine cannula (tube) to suction out the fat tissue. This process is performed carefully to avoid damaging surrounding tissues. The fat is drawn into the cannula by suction and then removed from the body. 

Recovery Process

The recovery process after liposuction typically starts within 1-2 weeks. In the first few days, mild pain, swelling, and bruising may occur, but pain can be easily controlled with painkillers. Wearing a compression garment or tight bandages can help reduce swelling and speed up the recovery process. Full recovery and the final results may take 3-6 months.
